At juin of 2018, the Alga4Food project had a field trip. It was time to collect seaweed. It was harvested on the beach of Buarcos, Figueira da Foz. We collected sea lettuce (Ulva spp.), nori (Porphyra spp.), furbelows (Saccorhiza polyschides), pepper dulse (Osmundea pinnatifida), wakame (Undaria pinnatifida), slender wart weed (Gracilaria gracilis), among others. Professor Leonel Pereira, a member of Alga4Food and a lecturer at the University of Coimbra, facilitated their identification.
